On March 15, the premiere of the animated film “Iris and Friends” was held at School of animated movie, Vranje. The film was created based on a story by children’s writer Žikica Dimitrijević and produced as part of the traditional Winter Workshop organized by ŠAF during the school winter break, when children attend daily classes in animation, drawing, and film creation.
This year’s workshop was led by Snežana Trajković, while the premiere itself represented the culmination of several weeks of dedicated work by the young participants. Through teamwork and creativity, the children had the opportunity to learn the basics of animated filmmaking while developing their imagination and artistic expression.
The ŠAF hall was filled with excitement, joy, and pride as the young authors watched their work presented to an audience on the big screen for the very first time. Warm applause after the screening created particularly emotional moments, as the children happily followed the audience’s reactions to the scenes they had worked on together.
Following the screening, an engaging and inspiring discussion was held with writer Žikica Dimitrijević. The children enthusiastically shared their impressions of the film, talked about their favourite scenes and characters, and suggested ideas for future stories and adventures.
A special charm to the evening was brought by young Iris, her sister and parents, as well as the evening’s unusual guest – Njuškica, a pet bearded dragon, who delighted the youngest visitors and added to the cheerful and friendly atmosphere of the event.
The premiere once again highlighted the importance of ŠAF’s creative workshops in encouraging children’s imagination, teamwork, and love for art and film, while a photo gallery captured memorable moments from this special evening.
